I lived at Dominican Oaks from 1995 to 2012 and Bernice was there during most of those years. She was reliable, faithful, and it seemed, untiring. She was shy, and did not offer much about herself; she thought of others first. I did not know about her experience of being a prisoner of war by the Japanese, I wish I had known. There is so much that is interesting in the account of her life. I know Dominican Oaks missed her when she retired, I know I did. Faithful and true. I know the Lord will welcome her to Heaven, and say to her, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
