I had the privilege of working with James at the City of Santa Cruz in the 80s, just before, I believe, he retired. He was such a gentle soul, caring and always willing to help with any project that was needed. Little did I know that he had traveled so extensively, or that he was a master guitar maker. This does not surprise me, however, he just never talked much about himself. My condolences to the family; I would imagine he has left you with some pretty wonderful memories.
