From Kathy Freitas, formerly Kathy Harms wife of Robert D. Harms and mother of Esther's three grandchildren: When Robert and I announced our engagement back in 1981 Esther reached out to me and became like a mother to me. She helped me find my wedding dress, pick out the flowers and plan the wedding. She used to be a wedding planner for her church and so Robert and I decided to have our wedding at her home church. She was a good Christian woman who helped me when I became a new wife and mother. I eventually found my way to a relationship with Christ and was wonderful to have her understand what my step mother did not. She always kept in touch with her grand children and they all love her so much.
