Rick Erb, known by his family and friends for his unique style of irreverent humor, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, September 13, 2015 with his wife by his side.
Rick was born on November 11, 1950 to Kenneth and Betty Erb of Indianapolis, Indiana. He later moved with his family to Clarkston, Michigan. He was an avid race car fan and loved everything to do with IndyCar Racing. He loved music, cooking, gardening, traveling and especially spending time with his family and friends. Some of his fondest memories were of holidays and hosting Rose Bowl Parade gatherings.Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Betty Erb, his brother, Ron Erb, Stepson, Arthur R. Carroll, and nephew Michal Schmoll. He is survived by his wife, Mary Micheline Erb, brother Randy (Gail) Erb of Bullhead City, AZ, son, Scot Erb of Santa Monica, CA, daughter, Kim (Marc) Krueger of Deltona, FL step-daughters, Erin Michaela (Zach Davison-Wilson) Weeks of Aptos CA, Ayla (John) Mader of Maui, HI, his grandchildren; Dylan, Madison, Maeven, Harper, and Baby Mader, as well as many extended family and friends.A time of viewing and visitation will take place on Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Oakwood Chapel beginning at 12:00 p.m. Funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. with burial and reception to follow.
