Obituary of Harold Harvey Wells

Harold "Hal" Harvey Wells, 75, of Chico, California, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Enloe Medical Center. Hal was born in Sacramento, California on June 6th, 1940 to Harold and Donna Wells. Hal attended Lassen Junior College where he studied forestry and Humboldt State where he graduated with degrees in psychology and sociology. During his life Hal lived in Sacramento, Oakland, Soquel and most recently in the Community of Cohasset. Hal served in the U.S. Army as a Firefighter and worked for the California Department of Forestry as a Firefighter, Engineer, Captain (Firefighter Foreman), Forester 1, Forester 2, and finished his career as the Resource Manager at the Ben Lomond nursery. Hal enjoyed long distance motorcycle rides and was an accomplished wood turner, master woodworker and an avid reader. Hal is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; sons, Jonathan and Christopher (Karen) Wells; grandchildren Riley and Taylor Wells and sister, Kath Joslin. Hal was preceded in death by his mother, Donna and father, Harold Wells. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hal's name to CAL Fire Local 2881 Honor Guard.
