Obituary of Francesjane Kapsch

Francesjane Kapsch, lovingly known as "FJ", passed away on Friday, March 25th at the age of 93. Francesjane was born in Fresno, CA and raised in San Diego where she graduated from San Diego High School and earned a BA degree from San Diego State College. After college she worked for the San Diego County Welfare Department in the Aged Age Program. After her husband, Joe, retired from the Marine Corps, she worked as a counselor for the California Employment Development Department for 20 years. As a Marine Corps wife she lived in Great Lakes, IL; Kaneohe, HI; Cherry Point, NC and Camp Lejeune, NC. She spent the last 50 years in Orange County, CA and the past year in Santa Cruz at Dominican Oaks where she made wonderful friends. Her active political life allowed her to be a delegate to the 1992 National Democratic Convention in New York. She traveled extensively and visited China, Scandanavia, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, the Panama Canal and all over Europe. Francesjane was a member of the Phi Sigma Nu Sorority at SDSC, the Orange County Democratic Central Committee, the Women For of Orange County and the El Toro Women's Golf Club. She gardened and sewed her whole life, loved golf, attending theater and decorating her home and garden. The Ukulele was her latest passion. Francesjane is survived by her children: Kathleen (Chip) Hoyt, Mary Robin (John) Robinson and Joe (Marilyn) Kapsch Jr.; grandchildren: Joan Howell, Alex Riendeau, Casey Riendeau, Brian Hoyt, Amy DeCenso and Christopher Kapsch; and cousin, Georgia Neyenesch Markley. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Jane O'Neill and her husband, Joseph Robert Kapsch. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Capitola, CA on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM. She will be laid next to her mother and husband at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, CA.
