Obituary of Christina Serrato

Christina Serrato, 27 of Santa Cruz, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on May 14, 2016. Christina was born in Santa Cruz, CA on April 5, 1989 to Juan and Elvira Serrato. She attended Soquel High School and Cabrillo College. Christina had a love for life and her smile lit up every room she entered. She loved her friends very much and looked forward to adventures with them. She will always be remembered for her kindness, love and joy she shared with everyone she came in contact with. Christina worked as a Dental Assistant, but her favorite and most meaningful job was being a mother to her twin sons, Alex and Xavier. Christina is survived by her parents, Juan and Elvira Serrato; her brother, Erwin Montanez and his wife, Cory; her sister, Hilda Montanez and her husband, Raul; and her brother, David Serrato. She was also an amazing Aunt Titi to her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly: Nick, Erica, Mariah, Kami, Mark, Isa and Emily. In addition, she is also survived by the father of her sons, Joseph Esparza. The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to them through this painful event. They would also like thank, the nurses and doctors who came to her aid and most of all, Hospice of Santa Cruz for their amazing support during her final days. A visitation will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel at 3301 Paul Sweet Rd. in Santa Cruz on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and a Chapel Service on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. A reception to celebrate Christina will follow at the DeLavega Park in Santa Cruz.
