I am so sorry to hear about Penny. We started school together at Live Oak Elementary School. She was the cute and smiling little girl with blond hair. We were in the same Brownie and Girl Scout troops. I recall one time going to camp together and that her duffle bag was almost as long as she was tall. Our photo made it onto the GS pamphlet with Penny trying to carry her gear.
Although some 50+ years have passed since high school graduation, early childhood friendships and memories often make impressions in one's mind. Penny always left one in mind.
My sympathy goes out to her family and friends for their loss.
