Obituary of John Andrew Wood

Andy's 15 year struggle with dementia ended peacefully on February 8, 2016 with his children by his side in Seattle, WA. Andy graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1962 and San Jose State University in 1967. He spent time in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy (Sayre) Wood, and sister and brother-in-law, Jeanie (Wood) and Tim Dolan. He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Wood (Pablo Abonia) and son, Lt. Col Zachary Wood (Angela); 6 grandchildren: Natasha, Brody, Joseph, and Holley Wood and Will and Joel Abonia; niece, Betsy Dolan (Rob McClinton); nephew, Grant Dolan (Carolin Molina); and great nephew, Anderson. Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, July 1st at 1 PM at Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel at 3301 Paul Sweet Rd. in Santa Cruz with reception to follow.
