Obituary of Glenvell James Rhodes

Glenvell James "Jim" Rhodes, a former resident of Santa Cruz, passed away in Glendale, AZ on August 19, 2016 at the age of 72. Jim was born on January 1, 1944 in Ione, CA to George & Lorene (Roden) Rhodes. He was raised in San Martin and Santa Cruz, graduating from Santa Cruz High School, attending Cabrillo College, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Jim owned and operated Rhodes Insurance here in California and went on to work as an agent for All Valley Insurance in Arizona. He was a member of the Cabrillo Assembly of God Church in Soquel, CA and the Church on the Green in Sun City, AZ. His hobbies included camping, fishing and he was a member of a bowling league. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carmen Silva-Lucero Rhodes; sons, Clinton J. Davis, Timothy D. Rhodes and Jason R. Rhodes; brother, Daniel Rhodes; sister, Dorothy Witt; grandchildren, Josephine, Lola and Leo; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Lorene, and his sister, Lenora Rhodes Shatto. A Memorial Service will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel located at 3301 Paul Sweet Rd. in Santa Cruz on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM.
