Obituary of Rosemary L. Smith

Rosemary L. Smith (Rosie), 86, passed away due to cancer at her home in Boulder Creek, California on July 27, 2012. Rosie was born as Rosemary L. Buchanan in St. Paul, Minnesota. She moved to the Bay area in 1948, met and married Howard (Cub) Smith, and worked for the federal government until retiring after 25 years in 1973. Rosie and Cub built their dream cabin in Boulder Creek and after retirement moved there for good. She is survived by her grandson Jeremy Smith of Ben Lomond, CA; daughter-in-law Josephine Perez of Boulder Creek; sister Lois M. Rouleau of Hudson, Wisconsin; brother Kenneth Buchanan of Kirkland, Washington; and niece Diane Peisson of Clayton, CA. She is predeceased by her husband Cub who passed away in 2002, and by their only son Craig, who passed away in 1992. A celebration of Rosie's life will be held at a later date.
