Obituary of Albert Alvarez Jr.
It is with great sadness that Albert Alvarez Junior, 48, passed away on Tuesday December 4, 2018. Junior, as he was affectionately called, was born and raised in Watsonville and attended local schools. He loved sports early on and played for the Bobcats and in little league. He graduated from Watsonville High School. He excelled for the Wildcats and went on to play for Cal Lutheran before an injury ended his career. Junior went to MPC for his post certificate. He had a passion for law, studied criminal justice and inspired to be a police officer like his father.
Junior was a big kid at heart and will be remembered for his zest of life. He loved Star Wars, comic books, old TV shows and cartoons in which he had quite a collection.
He is survived by his father, Albert Alvarez Senior and his partner Susan Mello, the Markovich Family, the Carbajal Family, the Ramirez Family, The Wilson Family, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. The family would like to express a special thank you to his friends and co-workers at Stericycle and the Henry’s. The family takes comfort in knowing that Junior will be welcomed home with open arms by his Brother Joseph, Grandmother Sally and Uncle Dick.
A Celebration of Albert’s Life will be held Saturday December 15th at 1pm at Oakwood Chapel at 3301 Paul Sweet Road in Santa Cruz. Burial will follow on Friday December 21st at 10am at Valley Cemetery in Watsonville.
