Obituary of Brad Buller

Brad Buller passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 8, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 57 years old. He was blessed to be at home with his wife and two daughters. Brad was born on August 22, 1963 in San Jose, California, to Ken and Rosalee (Penner) Buller. Brad grew up in Los Gatos and graduated from Los Gatos HS and Foothill college. After high school, Brad was part owner of Pennco Pre-hung Doors & Millwork until he returned back to school to obtain his degree as a Radiologic Technologist. He went on to have a very successful 25-year career in the Interventional Radiology department at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. He loved his job and cared deeply for the doctors, techs, and nurses he worked alongside with. He found purpose in his job by serving his patients with compassion. Brad first and foremost loved Jesus and strove to live a life worthy of His calling. He was blessed to have an amazing upbringing with grandparents, parents, and extended family who also loved the Lord. Brad met and married the love of his life, Terri Buller (Bolan), and were married for 25 ½ years. They had a beautiful marriage filled with love, support, adventure and tons of fun. Brad loved his two daughters, Alyssa (21) and Hannah (20), with all of his heart. He was an incredible Dad and was always their biggest supporter - whether on the sidelines of their soccer games or in the audience of their theatre plays. He was so proud of who they were becoming as young adults, both compassionate, caring and determined to make a difference in the career paths they have chosen. Brad was all about family, and being with Terri and the girls was his true joy. They enjoyed being with one another and finding new adventures together. He also held deep and meaningful relationships with cousins, nieces and nephews. He had an impeccable character; Brad was just all around a great guy, loving, reliable, unpretentious, compassionate and there for anyone who needed help. Brad was a strong athlete and his favorite thing to do was ride his mountain bike. His favorite spot was near his home at Henry Cowell State Park. He loved being in nature, especially the redwoods. He was a great water-skier, snowboarder, skier, surfer- there was nothing he couldn’t do. He was an avid motorsports fan. Whether it was riding his Honda motorcycle or watching a Formula One race, he loved speed. Brad’s goal was to visit every Formula One race in the world, which he was well on his way to after visiting two of his favorite race courses in Spa, Belgium and Monza, Italy. He loved to travel, and after his cancer diagnosis 7 years ago, he took his family to over 12 countries spending weeks abroad together building incredible memories and experiences that his family will carry forever. Music was a huge part of Brad’s life. It was a joke in the family that he could name every classic rock band, the musicians (especially guitarists) by name and all the concerts he had been to. He was an excellent electric guitarist and this is how he loved to worship God, whether with the worship team or just rocking out by himself. We will miss hearing him upstairs jamming on his guitar. Brad was an avid photographer and the many beautiful photos he took will be treasured forever. His family will miss one of his great qualities: he could fix or build anything. He was the ultimate MacGyver, watching him work on something was pure joy. His talents led to projects like building our home in Scotts Valley, taking our ski boat apart and putting it all back together and building his mountain bike. He also took those skills and used them to build homes in Mexico and Haiti. He had the great quality of helping others in such practical ways. Brad will forever be missed. Although his families’ hearts are broken in a million pieces, he is in the presence of Jesus. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7 Brad is survived by his wife, Terri Buller of Scotts Valley CA; two daughters Alyssa Rose and Hannah Nicole of Scotts Valley, CA; parents, Ken and Rosalee Buller of Fresno, CA; mother and father-in-law Gloria Bolan and Dale Bolan of Portland, OR and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Knutson (9/2020) and sister-in-law, Jerrie Riske (10/2011). A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 17th at 11:00 am at Santa Cruz Bible Church with a reception to follow. Brad has been cremated and his remains will be interred at the Mariposa Gardens on the property of the Santa Cruz Memorial Park.
