Michael Stuart Sternbach entered into rest on February 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Michael was born in New Jersey on January 30, 1959 to Seymour and Rosalyn Sternbach. Michael grew up in New Jersey. He attended the University of Delaware, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
Michael met the love of his life, Claudia Nielsen, in Berkeley, California in 1981. They spent their first year together living in Mexico. They have been married for 40 years. Michael and Claudia established their family in Aptos, California for the past 40 years, where they have lived and raised their daughter Kira.
Michael was the parts manager and partner at C&N Tractor in Watsonville. He was well loved and respected for his patience and knowledge by his co-workers and customers.
Micheal was an avid cyclist and loved the beach and bodysurfing and called Santa Cruz his paradise. He was a dedicated reader, especially adventure novels. He belonged to a book club that met monthly to share their reading adventures. Spending time with his family was very important, especially with the joy of his life, his grandson, Dodger who called Michael Pops.
Michael is predeceased by his father Seymour Sternbach. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Nielsen, daughter, Kira Sternbach, his mother, Rosalyn Sternbach, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Debbie Sternbach, brother and Sister-in-law, Larry and Donna Sternbach, his grandson, Dodger Henson, three nephews, two nieces and one aunt.
