Robert C. Aston, 71, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. A native of Los Angeles, he served 4 years in the US Air Force. In 1991 he moved to Santa Cruz due to a job transfer.
Robert’s first love was his family; he loved to get together with them to sing and play guitar. He enjoyed traveling and hiking. He was a member of the Santa Cruz Masonic Lodge and was very active in the Santa Cruz Toastmasters, serving as Area Governor, 1997-1998. One of his favorite hobbies was building “Timing Lights” for different Toastmaster chapters. He leaves behind many wonderful Toastmaster friends.
He is survived by his son, David Aston of Santa Cruz, daughter, Amber Aston of Sonoma, his brother, David Aston of South Gate, 4 grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest in Inglewood Cemetery. Santa Cruz Memorial is in charge of local arrangements.
