Franklin E. McMillan Jr, 102, of Aptos, California, passed away peacefully of a whole life on May 5th, 2024. He was born in Santa Cruz, California, 1922 to Franklin E. McMillan Sr and Maude (Miller) McMillan. Frank, a man of many talents and accomplishments, attended Santa Cruz High School, Salinas Junior College, and San Jose State University, where he graduated with distinction in Art and Journalism. Frank served as a sergeant in the Army Air Force during WWII as part of the Tinian combat intelligence group, utilizing his specialty in photography. After his service, Frank was an accomplished Art Director for many years at the Chicago advertising giant Young and Rubicam. Upon his retirement, Frank moved back to San Mateo to care for his sister until her passing. During his final years, he was an active member of Los Gatos Meadows, Dominican Oaks, and Aegis of Aptos communities, making significant contributions. Frank was predeceased by his best friend and soulmate, Marge Fawcett. Frank is survived by his four great nephews Bill (Lori) and Bob (Gianna) Wrenn, sons of his nephew Richard (Debby) Wrenn, and Will (Gale) and Rich (Kathy) Herrmann, sons of his niece Jane (Hank) Herrmann.
