Obituary of Lauren Patrick

Lauren Patrick passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2024, in Corralitos, following a struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Lauren was born on June 17th, 1969, in San Francisco, and lived with her family in Santa Cruz for over 50 years. She is survived by her parents, Doug and Dorothy Patrick, brother Brian, sister-in-law Mary, niece Natalie, nephew Joseph, and an extended family of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She attended local schools including Santa Cruz Gardens, Aptos High and Cabrillo College, with classes through the County Office of Education. Lauren attended Skills Center and Hope Services workshops. As an office assistant, she was chosen United Way Volunteer of the Year in 2013. She took great pride in her employment, of more than a decade, with Longs Drugs / CVS in Scotts Valley. Lauren participated in the Special Olympics, and the recreational and social programs of Beacon Independent Living Services and Shared Adventures. From an early age, Lauren enjoyed reading and listening to music, and loved to repeat dialogue and song lyrics from her favorite TV shows and movies. She was a very good speller and wrote in her journals most of her life. Lauren’s family is grateful to the staff of Cobblestone Manor who provided her with warm and caring companionship during the final two years of her life. The family is also grateful for the services provided by Hospice of Santa Cruz County. A family memorial was held following Lauren’s death.
