Hey Daddy..... it’s me “your favorite daughter”! It’s been 6 years today that you’ve been in the best place ever but I still miss you deeply! Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.... we’re having corned beef and cabbage today because it’s what you instilled in my memories of you!
The traditions are so much a part of me and I have you to thank for that!
I hope there’s enough corned beef and cabbage for you to make for everyone and I’m sure they won’t be disappointed!
God definitely gained a beautiful angel 6 years ago today!
Thanks for being my dad for almost 51 years! I miss you and love you always!

God broke the mold when He created Jim Seybert! Jim wouldn't want us to say he was perfect...but I say...he was perfectly wonderful! He impacted more lives in his, all too short, 85 year young life, than anyone I have ever known. He had so much ministry left in him...so many life-irons in the fire...still to blaze... but God is sovereign and His ways ARE perfect. He wanted Jim with HIm...and who can blame Him? He is such excellent company! Each of us who knew him...became all the richer for it...And I thank God eternally for crossing our paths...I will miss him always this side of heaven and I can't wait to see him there.

I was an Usher/Greeter with Jim.. my fondest memory was our get together potlucks/partys. One time he had us all write down something about ourselves that nobody knew about ourselves...then we put em in a hat, as Jim read one, we would all guess who it was...It totally got us to bond and learn about each other like never before. He was like that, Always smiling and sharing GOD's love without even mentioning HIS name...just actions !! You can keep your Ingrams and other "pastors"..give me men like Jim Seybert !!! I judge my life and actions on the " Seybert Scale" hehehe...When I get to Heaven, I have NO Doubt Jim will be there to greet us :)

Jim was probably the first person I met at SCBC and I'll never forget how sweet he was to me and my family. I especially remember one day when I attended the "hymn sing" and JIm was singing "What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon his face, the one who saved me by his grace. When he takes me by the hand, and leads me to the promised land, what a day, glorious day that will be! The way he sang that song, with, such entjusiasm and energy, and with such a big smile on his face. I had never seen anyone sing that song in that way before! And I can't help but smile, thinking of it now! We loved our dear older brother Jim, and look forward to seeing him again one day!

Dearest Arlene and Family: What a great photo of Jim! I am in between tears and laughter as I think of him. I remember how he selflessly served: making his wonderful meatballs for a Staff Christmas dinner...going to Dominican to visit the sick... shepherding his flock with such care... teaching great Precepts classes... going to Yellowstone one more time with a busload of people. I also remember his teasing. One day I was talking to him with another fellow about the Old Testament. With a straight face he said to the poor guy " I think that's in the book of Hezekiah!" The young man agreed. Jim just sat there shaking with silent laughter and smiling that Jim smile. "JIM!" I said "There is no book of Hezekiah!!!" I also remember the time when he phtotoshopped a portrait of the female staff so that we all had each other's faces. Jim was a dear godly man. But he could be very naughty! Which is part of why he was so wonderful! God bless you all--he loves you so much--and he is so happy in heaven.
Hugs in Him...Jennifer Smith

I'll never forget Jim leading us around Chennai, India with his camera and more energy than any of the rest of us! Such a joyful, cheerful, tireless and faithful servant of God! Much love to Arlene and the family in your time of loss. He's deeply missed.

Heaven has received a Saint. I, for one, will miss this wonderful, kind gentleman. I will always treasure our trips to the Grand Canyon and mostly the awesome, life-changing trip to Israel. The greatest compliment I think I received from Jim was he told me I could sing in his choir anytime. Jim, I will see you again some day and I will sing in your choir. You will be missed but know that Jesus received a Godly man into His loving arms.
