Obituary of Conor Patrick McEvoy

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the peaceful passing of Conor Patrick McEvoy, surrounded by his loving family on April 1st 2013 at Dominican Hospital Santa Cruz. Conor is predeceased by his father Brian. He was born in Detroit on November 1st 1959 to Patricia and Brian McEvoy. In his teens Conor traveled widely working for Royal Viking Line and he joined the US Marine Corp at the age of eighteen attaining numerous medals for his bravery and marksmanship. He was given a medical honorable discharge. While working as an assistant manager in a San Francisco hotel, he met and married his first love Lanette and they had two children Ryan and Lauren. Conor leaves behind his ex-wife Lanette, his mother Patricia and step-father Robert, his brother Sean, his son Ryan and daughter Lauren. Gracious thanks go to Charles (Chuck) Estes and many others at Santa Cruz Mental Health department and the excellent staff at Dominican Hospital.. Conor made many dear friends over the years while living in the Santa Cruz area. He was a poet who loved life and lived it to the full. He never met a person he didn't like or made friends with. He will be deeply missed!
