To all of us who knew, loved and valued Linda: I had the good fortune to work with and sometimes for her at the Probation Department most of the 1970's. She was passionate about her role, committed to what she did and made a vast contribution to her community. I also found her to have a unique sense of humor and was always ready with the appropriate barbed one-liner, which I relished. To me, she was truly a unique human being. I'm so happy to have known her and worked with her for as long as I did.

I am saddened to learn of Linda's unfortunate death. Although I feel much grief right now, I cannot possibly imagine the void... the sorrow that has been thrust on Evalyn, family, and friends.
I will always remember fondly the experiences we shared at restaurants, our traditional Friday night ritual dance parties, and hundreds of talks on a plethora of subjects. (She was one of the best proselytizers I have ever met!)
It is true that Linda was taken from us too soon, and I think you share in my sentiment that it feels a little unfair that such a smart, witty and talented woman's life has ended with so much living left to do. She shall be missed by many.
Seriocomically, I wonder what Linda said when she met Saint Peter at the pearly gates and he asked, "Is it true you hit a hole-in-one with an Oakland Raider golf ball? Kindly explain."
Requiem aeternam amico.

Dear Evalyn, I was sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I always enjoyed booking trips for you two when I was at Village Travel and have thought of you two over the years. I know both of your lives were enriched by each other. Sending love and prayers to you and your family. Joanie Fisher

Linda will be remembered as a friend, a go to gal, and a true spirit in my heart. Linda and I were Soroptimist members many years ago. She was always a " count on gal" and she met each project with energy and kindness. Even after she retired, when we would meet in the grocery store or at a 49er game, she would stop and want to know what you'd been doing and how you were. Thank you Linda for your smile and being someone to admire. You are truly missed and have left a path of good qualities for us to follow.
Thanks for the memories,
Karen Perry

Linda was a trail blazer in a male dominated criminal justice system in the 70's and 80's.
She focused the department and the conversations on results and its impact on families.
Her joshing humor often softened, but never silenced, her common sense candor. She never shied away from pointing out the absence of the emperor's clothes: be they judge's robes, law enforcement uniforms or liberals' romantic notions.
A good model and a good friend who's contributions helped build the foundation of a better justice system and community - a life well done.
Thanks Linda,
Terry Moriarty

Dear Linda, my friend, big fella, my pal, Hoss. Gone too soon. You touched my life in so many ways. When Jean and I decided to get married, you were the person who we wanted to perform the wedding ceremony. Thanks for that. A person takes those vows seriously when Linda Erwood reads them.
I'll miss your voice. You had a melodious way of saying "Hello" when you answered the phone. You sang all those Elvis songs in my car and knew every word. On three occasions I was witness to you making a hole in one on three different golf courses.
I don't idolize many people. Linda, you were definitely one of them. We has some good times, I'll never forget any of it.
I'm paraphrasing Shakespeare here:
"When she shall die,
Take her and cut her out in little stars,
And she will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun."
Romeo and Juliet. ACT III Scene 2.
Love you, miss you,
