Obituary of Thomas Fowler Chase

The family of Tom Chase announces that he passed away on the morning of September 30th. Tom bravely fought a two year battle with cancer undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. Tom leaves his wife of 47 years Camille (Daut, SMHS 64) three daughters; Lisa (Corey), Jennifer and Marci (John) and his beloved grandchildren Ariana (Lisa) and James (Marci). He also leaves brothers Jim and Don, sister Nancy and brother-in-laws Chris and Allen. Tom and Camille recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary with their family. After graduation from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Tom served 3 years in the US Army as a Captain with Hawk Missile Batteries stationed in Okinawa. Returning to California, Tom worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space for 35 years as a Manager in their software division on large satellite programs including MILSTAR and SBIRS. He retired from Lockheed 8 years ago and recently, he and Camille moved from Boulder Creek to Scotts Valley, California. Tom was enriched by the family he loved and particularly by visits from his granddaughter and grandson. He loved to travel and visited many parts of the world on cruises. He enjoyed following NASCAR, the SF Giants and camping in their 5th wheel. In his younger years he collected and showed Corvettes with the local Corvette club. Tom had a gift of touching many people's hearts and will be greatly missed. Tom's Celebration of Life will be held at the Scotts Valley Community Center on Sunday, November the 10th at 1:30 pm.
