Obituary of Carol Jean Stoner

Carol Jean Stoner died peacefully at home on May 2, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old. Carol was born on September 3, 1932 in Tulare, California. Carol was the 4th of 5 children to John and Alma Ethridge. She married Al Stoner on April 30, 1949 and they had 3 children. They were happily married for 63 years, before Al passed away in 2012. The family moved to Watsonville in 1968. Carol had a love for traveling; this included many cruises with her husband and even a 50th wedding anniversary to Europe. Carol also treasured gardening, and always had the most beautiful backyard. Carol is survived by her children, Joanne Etheridge, Allen Stoner, and Bruce Stoner. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Daydra Williams, Brian Stoner, Colin Hedges, Broghan Hedges and 7 great-grandchildren. Carol is predeceased by her husband, Al Stoner and grandson, Gerrad Stoner. Family and friends are invited to join a visitation on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz. We also invite you to a graveside committal on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Oakwood Memorial Park, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz.
