Obituary of Edna Faye Lewis

Edna Faye Lewis, born February 5th, 1938, in Boise, Idaho, passed away on Saturday morning, December 24th. She grew up in Clarkston, WA, and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1956. Edna studied nursing at Whitworth College, earning her masters. She married Charles Lewis on June 3rd, 1961, and joyously celebrated their 50th anniversary this summer. Her nurses training was put to use on the mission field in Indonesia, where she lived for 36 years, raising her four children and serving the Indonesian people. After retiring from the foreign mission field in 2005, Edna settled in Mount Hermon, CA, and was hired as a Heartland Hospice nurse, where she continued to lovingly care for her community. Edna saw the world around her as her mission field, desiring that all whom she encountered would know Jesus. Edna is survived by her husband, Charles, their four children and spouses, along with their 17 grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Eugene King of Clarkston, WA, and sister Florence Hutchison of Yerington, NV. She also held dear her church family at Felton Presbyterian Church, and friends in the Mount Hermon community. She was devoted to God's word and to her family, and was a living example of selfless service to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed, and we praise God for her legacy in our lives. There will be a viewing at Santa Cruz Memorial Mission Chapel on Thursday, December 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30th at 3:00pm at Felton Presbyterian Church, 6090 Hwy 9, Felton, CA.
