Obituary of Willadare Williams

Billie, a long time resident of Aptos, California passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday August 3rd with family and friends by her side. She was 90 years young. Born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, Billie met and married Earl C. Williams in 1945. They moved to Santa Cruz 67 years ago, and started their family. While raising her three kids, she spent time as devoted Aide at Rio Del Mar school for 15 years. In her spare time she enjoyed baking various sweet treats. She was known for her molasses cookies as well as lemon meringue pies. A good cup of coffee was always offered with both. If you stopped by in the evening, you would be offered a glass of her favorite wine, and be entertained by the hummingbirds flying around in the backyard. An avid sports fan, she closely followed the San Fransisco Giants, Golden State Warriors and the UCSB Gauchos. She never shied away from sharing the latest news she read about her favorite players. She is survived by her daughter, Earlene Matteson of Santa Cruz and two sons, Bill Williams of Boise, Idaho and Bob Williams of Santa Barbara; as well as her grandchildren, Lauren, Ivy, Travis, and Kori. She also leaves behind step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family and close friends will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Allen and Shirley Green; husband, Earl C. Williams; and son, Gary Williams. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz.
