Bill was my neighbor on Palmetta Street for about 2 years. We would go to breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. When he got his dog Mihn we would take our dogs to Doggy Park and enjoy their antics. I still have the Halloween card he sent me last year. Bill was a good neighbor and friend, I will miss him.
Best,
Frances Ruiz

Bill was a good friend for many many, years...ever since you, Nathan, were in preschool with Mike and Kurt. He was always a completely sincere and gentle man. He was blessed with with a lovely sense of humor and always tried to see the best in everything and everyone. We had a lot of fun out on the bay and out in the Park and at each others homes and more recently at lunches on the wharf. Nor and I will be out of the country on the 16th but will tip a glass in memory of Bill on that day

I was fortunate enough to work with your dad my first three years as a special education teacher at Mountain Elementary School. This was a long time ago but he left a lasting impression on me. He was always kind, supportive and resourceful in guiding parents and staff to finding the best solutions for students with special needs. I remember well his smile and generous spirit. I was pleasantly surprised several years ago when he re-entered my life as a volunteer to our special education program at Bay View School. He worked with individual children in our program with compassion and insight. We were sorry when he was unable to continue. Your father was a very special man and I am lucky to have known him. My most sincere sympathy and condolences to you and your family.

We had not heard of your loss until your Dad's obituary was published. He was a father to be proud of. We know how much he loved his son and family.
Dick and I have such fond memories of our weekend visits to the ranch. Potluck dinners, on the porch, with plenty of wine, good conversation and laughter. Bill always had strong opinions and convictions but he was also willing to listen and discuss the differing thoughts of his friends. I see your photo and remember how much he loved the horses and dogs
I never pass the lot where your home stood on Trescony without thinking of you Nathan, your mother Nancy and your Dad. You were fortunate indeed to grow up with such loving, intelligent and compassionate parents.
We send our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Norris family.

Your Dad, Bill, was a great representative of the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. Many families benefitted from his caring approach and supportive attitude. He was a friend to all staff and children in our programs. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Diane Siri. Former Santa Cruz County Superintendent
