I worked with Diana at Kelsey Seybold in Houston. I was a kid in high school and she was a resident. Her sister lived with her at that time. Diana was a great person with an awesome spirit. This weekend I was in the medical center area and passed an apartment complex they lived in. I think I was already working there when she hired on, moonlighting I think, and we became instant friends. She was an awesome physician and her interaction with children was so genuine loving I rarely saw a crying baby she couldn't calm. In my years at KSC the most impactful thing I witnessed was Diana having to perform a procedure on a child then leaving the room and tearing because she couldn't comfort the single mom. Diana was so very loving and thoughtful, that was also extended to family members of her patients.
Diana allowed me to hangout with her after work sometimes and even once let me house sit while she and her sister left town for a weekend. She understood the whole 17 year old wanting freedom from his parents thing but made me promise no wild party, I honored that promise. Diana was wonderful person who encourage me to continue my education and to pursue a career in science. I have a few funny Dr. Wells stories that I'm sure I'll revisit from time to time.
When I found she passed I was deeply saddened. My condolences to the family and prayers for my friend.

I knew Diana in college, medical school, and pediatric residency. She was a loving, joyful, loyal friend and colleague who always brought good humor and positive energy. She was a devoted and hard working doctor. I will never forget her smile or the sound of her laughter. I am very saddened to hear of her passing as are my siblings and my colleagues in medicine. She was blessed with the ability to accept others as they are. This made her the best kind of friend, one you can trust. I keep her and the family she loved so dearly in my prayers. May you have peace.

I didn't know Diana very well, but certainly remember when she started coming once a week to our clinic to see our more difficult pediatric patients. She was a wpmderfi; resource,. easy to work with, enthusiastic about her specialty and very knowledgeable. We all felt fortunate to have her on our staff.Donna Cowan, RNC-NP
