Obituary of Jim Pozzi

Jim Pozzi passed away Tuesday, May 16th in the evening after battling Cancer. He was at home and surrounded by his wife and daughters. Jim's love for his family, generous spirit and steadfast resolve to care and provide served as the foundation for his life. Jim was born in San Jose, California. Jim attended St. Patrick's Elementary School in San Jose. He graduated from St. Francis High School (Mountain View, CA), class of 1962 and attended Santa Clara University. He met and married Jill (Shelton) Pozzi in 1965. Later, with 2 young children in tow, he built a house on property next to his grandmother in, Pleasure Point-Santa Cruz, California where he remained in residence for 40 years. Jim was a passionate information gatherer and was the "go-to" man. He was a natural in his long and successful career in sales. From Campbell's to Ralston Purina, his customers always had the most critical information and the best customer service. His family knew that information from Jim was a product of deep and thorough research and he always had time to help. He took great pride in his work. He taught his daughters to do the same. Jim loved cars, gadgets and tools. He was always busy with a project… or 5. He was the man who could do and fix anything. No problem was unsolvable. Some of his favorite past times were to attend his grandchildren's sports activities, local air shows, train shows, car shows and traveling to Italy. Jim is proceeded in death by his mother Estelle Pozzi and father Gus (Augustine) Pozzi. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Jill, his daughters Meggin Verduzco (Bob) of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Meredith Pozzi of Santa Cruz and his grandchildren, Scott, Elizabeth, Thomas and Madeline. He is also survived by his brothers Michael Pozzi (Rosemarie) of Corralitos, Mark Pozzi (Debbie) recently located to Fresno, and sister, Marianne Silvear (Robert) of Aromas. He also leaves numerous other family members and loyal friends. A memorial will be held late summer. Date and time to be determined.
