Obituary of Dennis Armstrong

Dennis Rodney Armstrong June 23, 1953 - June 14, 2017 Resident of Santa Cruz Dennis Armstrong unexpectedly passed away on June 14, 2017 at the age of 63. He idolized Johnny Cash and was known as "The Other Man in Black". He was an auto mechanic for most of his life, starting when he was just a teenager. A man of many talents, he could fix anything and was very good at auto repair, carpentry, tile work and plumbing. He also enjoyed fishing and camping with his second wife and stepchildren which was a happy time for him. Even though he and his second wife divorced, they remained very close and the best of friend throughout the years. Dennis is survived by two sons, four stepchildren and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Theta Armstrong; brothers, Daniel and David Armstrong; and sister, Gail Cooper. In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Santa Cruz Police or Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit or to your favorite charity. Services for Dennis will be held at the Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Rd., Santa Cruz on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1 PM followed by a graveside committal at Oakwood Memorial Park. In honor of Dennis, the other man in black, it is requested that you dress in all black.
