Obituary of Russell Allen Barr

Russell Allen Barr passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 in his home. He was born on September 7, 1950 in Bay City, Michigan to Robert and Lois (Getty) Barr. He moved to Ontario, California in 1963, where his lifelong love of surfing began. In 1968 Rusty graduated Chaffey High School, where he won 1st place at the California State Fair for building design. He went on to study architectural Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He moved to Felton, CA in 1975. In 1981 he met his lifelong love, Suzy Gardner, and married her on May 7, 1983. Rusty worked most of his life as a printer. He always loved to be outside, from playing with his siblings as a child, to surfing and hiking with his family in later years. Rusty was always creative and loved to work with leather and wood carving. He passed this love for the arts to his children. Rusty was a caring and passionate father to son Miles and daughter Maria and her husband Nicolai. He will also be loved and missed by his wife and best friend of 34 years Suzy, his brother Bob, his sister Sandy, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
