Obituary of Arda W. Curteman

Arda passed away on the morning of Monday, October 16, 2017 surrounded by angels, her daughter and dear friends. She was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Quincy, CA until the age of 11, when she entered the foster care system. She spent the rest of her childhood in various foster homes and a children's home. Just as she was aging out of foster care she met Wesley D. Curteman and three months later they were married in Chester, CA. They had one daughter. That marriage lasted until his passing in 2016, just shy of their 64th anniversary. Arda is survived by her daughter, Jeannet Curteman of Scotts Valley, CA; her sister, Joanna Miller, of Oceanside, CA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Byron and Gilbert Boyden; sister, Kathy Clark; nephews, John Miller, David Miller and Tommy Clark; and parents, Gilbert J. Boyden and Winnifred (Stowell) Nerat. Special thanks to Hospice of Santa Cruz for their compassionate care. Services will be held at the Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Rd., Santa Cruz, CA on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM, officiated by Rev. Jerry Beck, with burial to follow at Oakwood Memorial Park and a reception at the family home.
