Obituary of Patricia Ruby Strong Pennington

Patricia Ruby Strong-Pennington, native of San Mateo and Scotts Valley passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, at her home in Arkansas, at the age of 85. One of four daughters born to Alfred Leroy Strong and Ruby Violet Strong. Predeceased by her parents and sisters, LaVerne Strong-Sutton, Sharon I. Strong, Charles Alan Nanna, grandson and Herman V. Nanna, Jr., husband. Loving mother and valiant woman who will be remembered as one of our families "cowgirl-mermaids" as she and her sister enjoyed diving off the end of the Santa Cruz wharf to a buoy to discuss movies and their horseback ride for the following day. Survived by her son Martin Alfred Nanna and wife Anita Louise, granddaughter Aria Celestina Nanna of New Mexico, grandson Nicholas Andrew Nanna ( son of Martin and Barbara Orton Nanna) of California, son, Michael Edward Nanna, daughter Daureen Ruby Babcock and husband Fred, grandsons Colton Thomas Babcock and Luke Fredrick Babcock of Watsonville, son Patrick Herman Nanna and wife Beverly Ann, granddaughter Alexandria Michelle Nanna-Elera and husband Christian of Arkansas, and daughter Kati Helen King and husband James Fredrick King, grandson Leland J. F. King of Felton. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., Jan. 27, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at the Santa Cruz Memorial - Mission Chapel, 1927 Ocean Street Ext., Santa Cruz, CA 95060.
