Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Don passed away peacefully on March 22nd with his wife and soulmate Kitty by his side. Don was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lola May and William Holmen Fields. He served in the National Guard before receiving his degree from Stockton College. He was a Psychiatric Technician before he became a Ventura County Sheriff's Deputy. He also found his calling in construction and was a skilled carpenter. He was a true Renaissance man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, abalone and scuba diving, horse and car racing, watching and playing sports and coaching youth soccer. He loved family gatherings and holidays. He and his wife Kitty and their many beloved dogs shared their time between their homes in Soquel, California and Sundance, Wyoming, where they enjoyed the beautiful outdoors and snow margaritas, among other things. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kitty, their son Mark and daughter Tammy, granddaughter Mykal, grandsons Mark and Shane, great-granddaughters Victoria and Skyle and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Family and friends are welcome to join a Celebration of Life on Easter Sunday afternoon at their home in Soquel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Don's honor.
