Ralph was a true friend. When I moved to Aptos 20 years ago, he took my wife and me to dinner as a welcome to Aptos gesture. Then he let me store my old car until I found a permanent place for it. We watched Giants games together and what a great host he was for those mostacholi (sp) parties at his house. We played some golf together. He was always in high spirits. His biggest gift to me was laughing at my goofy puns, saying "How do you come up with that stuff?" Jim Healey

My sympathy to Ralph's family. He was a nice man and good neighbor. He was always kind to my parents, Carl and Ann Porter. He was an amazing man and will be missed.
So sorry for your loss.

Agreed, Ralph was a fine neighbor. He always had a garage full of classic cars at his disposal. Always said "Hi" to my parents across the street, Don & Lillian YEE.

Condolences to the Moceo Family. My husband Jesse and I (Ziggy Rendler-Bregman) bought our home on Van Ness Ave. from Ralph in 1976. We still live there. I was working at Grey Bears at the time, where we rented the office and cold storage from Ralph. When I told him that we bought a house on Van Ness, he said...."That's my house! I sold it too cheap". He didn't know it was me and I didn't know it was him. We have lived in that house for more than 40 years and raised our 3 kids there. In fact, our oldest son had his 5 year old birthday party be a "field trip" to go see Ralph's trains which he had set up in his bigger home three doors down. Ralph was a great neighbor-bringing amazing pasta dishes to our block party. He did live a Dolce Vita for sure. Rest in Peace.

Ralph, ol' buddy, I'll never forget the good times we shared together, especially when we were roommates in Rio del Mar and then again in in Santa Cruz when we were in our 20s. RIP, my friend.
