Lyn,
I miss you so much and cherish the fun times we've had together. The memory of your last night here on earth was your greatest gift to me, and I want to share it with your friends and family. I just wish I had the ability to retell a story as you had. Sunday, May 27 was your last night on earth. You entered our house like a cat who had just entered a bird cage-all grins and smiles. You had lost more weight, and were wearing a cute top that I'd never seen. Jim even noticed as you modeled your new wardrobe for us. Your confession of your late nights reading 50 Shades ofGrey did not show in your eyes (maybe that is where the twinkle came from... ;) You looked radiant, beaming with happiness.
As always, you helped in the kitchen, this time forming the very hamburger patties that we would all enjoy later. We had our 1st peach billini while visiting out back. We looked over the hill for coyotes, and of course the neighborhood bobcat. It was warm and lovely out and you jumped at the chance to enter the croquet game. After teaching us all how the pros tee off, and make chip shots, you and Jim marched to the finish line the victors. This is Jim's fondest memory.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner, and you were engaging and chatty with our family and friends. As the brave guests entered the hot tub you cuddled under heat lamps with me and the story telling continued as did the bellinis. You spoke of your travels, and how much you love going to far away places. You spoke of Max and his work in Japan. You were happy that he would spend time to enjoy himself there. You spoke of Scotland and of a tropical island, Jamaica?? and how you paid a local man $10 to take you around the island and how he "kept you safe!" Ha, Little did he know that your smile could get you out of any tricky situations. You shared that you and Ben had spent time together in San Francisco, and how much you appreciated him, how close you felt with him. You encouraged my daughters and their friends to travel, that it would improve their perspective in life. Little did we know-that you were about to take the greatest journey of all. You refused more alcohol, stating 2 was your limit. ( A good habit we all could learn from).
You were the last to leave, you were bubbly and cheerful as we hugged a bear's embrace and I kissed you on the cheek for the very 1st time. If I had known it would have been my last time, I'd cover your sweet face with kisses.
Thank you my friend for spending your last night with me and my family. We all miss you so very much, that it hurts.
Love
Kathy & Jim
