Dear Family of Ida Hills: My husband Paul Berman and I (Carol) want to offer our sincerest condolences to you on the death of your loved one, Ida Hills. We had the pleasure of knowing her as a Porter Gulch neighbor for many years, and we were inspired by her devotion to her community, the environment, to her neighbors, and what was best for the future of our planet. I learned the words "riparian corridor" from her, and we shared a concern for the delicate balance in the special place in which we live; and we occasionally would gather or talk and support our shared political concerns. She shared her books with us and her enthusiasm for life. She was a real inspiration, and she will be missed. She was a very special human being.
