Obituary of Karen S. Fisher

Karen passed away at home with her family at her side following a long battle with cancer. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, a caring daughter, sister, and a friend to all. Karen was a graduate of Watsonville High School. She was a Teacher's Aide for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District for 30 years. She worked for the school district until she was too ill to continue. Karen was also a longtime Sunday School Teacher at her church. Karen is survived by her husband of 44 years Ken Fisher; her children, Kevin Fisher and Kristi Torkos; mother, Nadine Bowman; brother Rick Elliott; sisters Wanda Cortez, Connie Caves and Judy Dutra; and four grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Karen's life on Saturday, September 15th at 1:30 p.m. at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 2151 Freedom Blvd., Freedom, CA 95019. Arrangements entrusted to Santa Cruz Memorial, Santa Cruz. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions may be made in Karen's memory to the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
