Obituary of Irene Opal Dickey

Irene Opal Dickey, 98, passed away on in Santa Cruz on Saturday, February 9, 2013. A native of Brewster, MN she graduated from Brewster High School and later from Minneapolis Beauty College. She came to Exeter with her husband, Earl in 1958 where they purchased the Ben Franklin Store. They later purchased one in Kingsburg, and lastly, purchased the Ben Franklin Store on Soquel Avenue in Santa Cruz. Irene was a longtime member of the Santa Cruz Church of the Nazarene. She also taught Bible School for many years. She is survived by her 3 sons, Robert Dickey of Exeter, Ron Dickey of Redding, and David Dickey of Santa Cruz, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl Dickey, who died in 1993. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Santa Cruz Church of the Nazarene, 115 So. Morrissey (at Gault St.) at 2:00 P.M.
