Obituary of Diego Muñoz Cortés

Diego Muñoz Cortés passed away suddenly on September 11, 2020. A Visitation in Diego’s honor will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community 435 Monterey Avenue, Capitola on Saturday September 19, 2020 from 9:30am – 11:30am. Diego was born in Tlaxcala, Mexico to Sergio Muñoz Rojas and Irene Cortés; they raised Diego in Santa Cruz California, with his two brothers, and sister. Diego worked for Scotts Valley Cycle sport as a mechanic, where he was able to work and do something he always enjoyed. He was a family man and especially proud of his beautiful daughter Yaritza and loving wife Selene. Diego loved to meet new people and was always smiling. His other are passions included sports, gaming, skateboarding, singing and dancing. He also enjoyed video games, Pokémon and PlayStation online with his friends. Diego is survived by his wife, Selene Serna, daughter Yaritza Pilar Muñoz Serna, his parents to Sergio Muñoz Rojas and Irene Cortés, his brothers Luis F. Muñoz Cortés, Sergio E. Muñoz, his sister Genit Hernandez, his in laws Oscar Serna & Maria Campos, brother in law and sister in law Luis E. Serna and Hilda Negrete. Diego also leaves behind a very large extended family and friends. The visitation will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community 435 Monterey Avenue, Capitola on Saturday September 19, 2020 from 9:30am – 11:30am. Please do not bring any children, unless the family has specifically invited them. If you have been experiencing any Covid – 19 symptoms or are feeling unwell please do not attend. Temperature checks and masks will be required. Each person will have a short time to view Diego, so that everyone has a chance to pay their respects. Please remember to social distance and respect Diego’s family, they have already experienced a great loss, please follow all social distancing guidelines.
