My boys were lucky to grow up with Robert as a neighbor and playmate. He had so much spunk and energy! One of my favorite memories is of him zooming around the sidewalks of our complex on his skates, hockey stick in hand, practicing his moves. He was so strong and smooth and fast! Later, when he got into lacrosse, it was so much fun to watch him practice, he made it look so easy. I’ll never forget the morning of 9/11: Robert came over early for our morning carpool to school and asked to turn on the TV. I thought there was something sports-related he wanted to watch. He, my boys, and I sat there, riveted by the unforgettable images of the horror that was unfolding in Manhattan. That he followed his dream to join the Armed Forces and commit to serving his country and protecting us is a testament to his generous heart and courage. My deepest condolences to Cindie, Mike, and the entire family.
