Shared many outings with Joy since 1970. One of her favorite places was Allied Arts in Palo Alto. My mother, Margaret, Carole and I would spend a day shopping at Stanford or discovering the shops at Allied Arts. On one trip to Stanford, a salesman approached Carole and I to try a pogo bike. You hopped up and down on a flat platform built into the bicycle frame. SO, off we went around the parking lot. The salesman approached Joy and Margaret for a try. Your Mom was giggling so much she could hardly say "No, thanks. I'd rather watch Carole and Micki while their heads bob up and down between the parked cars."
Your Mother raised five wonderful, contributing, kind, intelligent and funny people. Each of you, in your own way, got a characteristic that was one of Joy's best. You will honor her just by being yourselves and letting those characteristics continue to shine through each of you.
I am thankful to have known Joy and share your sorrow. Sending you strength and peace as you go through this transition without her.
