Obituary of Bonnie Kay Ford

Bonnie Kay Ford (aka Bon-Bon), was born April 7, 1960 and passed away peacefully May 1, 2021 at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Paul Finley Sr.; mother, Doris Hope Finley and brother, Robert Paul Finley Jr. (aka Bobby). Bonnie is survived by her husband, Charles Ford Sr.; her four children, James Ford, Ted Dersch, Charles Ford Jr. and his wife Shabana, Robin Gosz and her husband Gavin. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Ryan Gosz, Michael Ford, and Zakariya Ford; her brothers, Pat Finley and his wife, Karen and William Finley Sr., and his wife Alex and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bonnie was always a caring, loving person with a passionate, generous, and eclectic spirit. She had a beautiful smile. She grew up in Sunnyvale, California. She married her husband Charles Ford Sr. in Santa Cruz. Together, they started Affordable Heating & Air, a local business that is well known for helping others maintain cozy homes and great customer service. Bonnie was loyal and she was there for her family and friends during good and bad times. She always wore her heart on her sleeve and the only thing kinder than her eyes was her loving smile. Her compassion and warm-hearted demeanor will be remembered and missed by all, and her memory will be carried on by everyone she has encountered. Gone, but never forgotten! A committal service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10 A.M. at Oakwood Memorial Park, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz, California 95065. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in Bonnie’s memory to her favorite charity, The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County, 543 Center Street, Santa Cruz, CA.
