Obituary of Claudia Dean Hodsdon

Claudia Hodsdon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her Scotts Valley home, at the age of 92. After a long battle with brain cancer, she fell into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Her fervent desire was to see Jesus and look upon His face. Her desire is now complete. Born in Red Oak, Oklahoma, she met the love of her life, Clifton Hodsdon, in San Francisco, California. They were married in 1947. Cliff and Claudia renewed their vows in 1972 in Scotts Valley. She loved Cliff so very much. Claudia will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and to her Lord Jesus Christ. She and Cliff were longtime attendees of Santa Cruz Bible Church, and members since 1996. As a pastor's wife, Claudia was an integral part of ministry, including singing with a beautiful soprano voice. Claudia's servant leadership was evident in her loving care of others. Over her lifetime she counseled and mentored hundreds of women. Her example of living a Christ filled life will be emulated through her mentee's lives and will continue Claudia's legacy of caring for people for Christ. Claudia was warm, kind and generous. She always saw the best in people and put others before herself, even in the painful days of her illness. Claudia is survived by her husband of 74 years, Clifton Hodsdon, two daughters, Darlene and Linda, son, Roger, son-in-law Kenn, daughter-in-law, Nancy; grandchildren, Breann, Brian, Scott and Kyle, grandson-in-law David, granddaughters-in-law Lisa and Jordan; great grandsons Aiden, Brock, Riley, Hunter and great granddaughters Summer and Rori. A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at Santa Cruz Bible Church, Sunday, August 1st beginning at 2:00pm. She will be laid to rest at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, California.
