Obituary of Hélène Belverge

Hélène Belverge, 97, passed away on September 26, 2021 in her home at Dominican Oaks in Santa Cruz, CA. Hélène was born to French immigrants, Armand and Louise Belverge, on December 26, 1923. She was preceded in death by her sister Yvonne Belverge who passed away in March 2008 at the age of 89. Both sisters never married and were adventurous doing everything together until Yvonne's death. At Dominican Oaks Hélène enjoyed a group that played Chinese Mahjong for long hours and shared many meals together. At 94 Helene learned to knit shawls for the military and baby blankets. At 97 besides being an avid reader and speaking several languages, she was learning to email, zoom and skype. A Celebration of Joy will held at Santa Cruz Hope Church at 4525 Soquel Drive, Soquel, CA on Sunday, October 17 at 2:00 pm. Transportation to and from Dominican Oaks will be available upon request or if you fear the Covid virus and want to attend by zoom, you may call 831-254-8590. Both Hélène and her sister will be greatly missed. Hélène's caregivers became her family and she will be remembered with love in our hearts.
