Gwen was indeed a remarkable woman. We met when Arthur and my son Shawn were in kinder at Westlake, I was drawn to Gwen immediately because of her kindness and enthusiasm and our sons loved playing together, I provided childcare for Arthur while Gwen was at SJSU and when she was playing tennis. We really were more acquaintances than friends but over the many subsequent years when meeting at the bookstore or Shoppers Corner we would fall into long conversations and she always remembered the details of the last time we spoke always wanted to know what Shawn was doing. There are few people who are able to give their full attention when they speak to you but Gwen always made me feel that I had her full attention, it's a great gift to make someone feel that they are "seen". An encounter with Gwen was always the highlight of my day!
