Obituary of Esther Elizabeth Walsh

Esther Elizabeth Walsh, 5/26/1928 – 8/9/2022, passed away at the tender age of 94 surrounded by the caring nurses of Watsonville Community Hospital. Her family was unable to be by her side. Esther was a wonderful cook and excelled in pie and pastry making. She had many wonderful friends and family and was always up to having extraordinary dinner parties that often turned into fun but serious poker games. She was an excellent homemaker, knitter, crocheter and seamstress. Every summer she grew her own vegetables in her garden. She and the love of her life, Steve, enjoyed traveling in their RV and belonged to an RV club. They visited many places far and wide in our beautiful country. She led a beautiful life. She loved and was loved by many. Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Walsh, and by her eldest daughter Lynda Shively Sutherland. She is survived by her daughter Pam (Brent) Anderson of Watsonville, CA, Ted (Cindy) Shively of Fremont, CA, and Steve (Janine) Shively from Arizona, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family would like to thank the Rillera Guest Home, Susie and Elis Rillera, Frieda and all of the wonderful caregivers for the love and kindness they all provided our mother. Due to our mother's wishes there will not be a public service. If anyone is so inclined to make a donation in her name, her favorite charity(s) was Wounded Warriors or any non-profit regarding our veterans.
