Obituary of Tito Flavio DiPietro
Please share a memory of Tito to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Friends and family will gather at Santa Cruz Memorial (Ocean Street) on Saturday, February 11th, at noon, to say farewell to their beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, Tito DiPietro, who passed away peacefully on January 31st, at his Scotts Valley home following a sudden diagnosis of cancer. Tito was born in Cordoba, Argentina and resided in Santa Cruz County for 31 years.
Tito had an impressive career in technology based on self-taught networking and data management skills. He worked for Palm, Lab 126, Amazon, and American Home Shield over the last 20 years. His technological acumen extended to home renovations using state of the art connectivity and renewable energy.
Tito was an avid chef and master of major culinary projects, such as making wine, cider, beer, curing meats, stuffing sausages and numerous other ambitious and delicious endeavors. Many dear friendships were made in cellars, garages, and in front of stoves as he shared this passion.
Tito was proud of his Italian heritage and dreamed of traveling and living in Italy and made major efforts in pursuit of Italian citizenship for himself and his extended family.
Tito will always be remembered by his family for his generosity, his hospitality, his sense of humor, and the way he valued each of us and sought ways to spend time with us.
He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Adriana DiPietro (Rigattieri) who passed away in 2014. He is survived by his son Nick DiPietro, also of Scotts Valley. He is also survived by his two sisters, Ruth Doblack of Los Banos, California, and Ana Gibelli of Franklin, Georgia. His niece and nephews, Shelomon Doblack (San Jose), Hesther Sekon (Doblack, Sunnyvale), Benjamin Doblack (Catania, Italy), Joseph Doblack (San Diego), and Samuel Gibelli (Franklin, Georgia) will cherish his memory.
In memory of Tito, friends and family are welcome to bring flowers to his services, share cherished photos or memories on Facebook, or donate to any charitable cause in his honor.
