Obituary of Charles Edward Cook

Charles Edward Cook was born in Oakland, California on November 19, 1945. Charles graduated from Oakland High School. As a young boy he became a Boy Scout advancing through the ranks to Eagle Scout. He also earned the God and Country Award and Order of the Arrow. As a young man he became a Mason and a Shriner as well as a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He served as Worthy Patron of Almona, Diablo Star and Wild Lily Chapters. He also served as a Grand Representative in 2007-2008.
Charles is survived by his wife Jean Cook, his daughters Karen Archibald and Michelle Cook. His passing is mourned by his sister; Beverly Groeniger, brother-in-law; Michael Groeniger, son-in-law; Duane Archibald, his three granddaughters: Lindsay and Courtney Archibald and Katie Klingberg, many nephews, nieces and extended family.
Charles enjoyed square dancing with Guys and Dolls square dance club, playing his tuba with the East Bay Banjo Band and camping. No matter what he did he brought humor, kindness and friendship. His sense of humor, laughter and devotion to his family will truly be missed by all who knew him.
