Nancy Nogales

Obituary of Nancy Celia Nogales

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy was born in Los Angeles in 1940. She spent her younger years in a small town on the eastern Sierras. Her family owned a business and restaurant in Lone Pine until her father’s death in 1947. She spent her school years in the farming and orchard landscape of early San Jose. She graduated from Lincoln HS, Summa Cum Laude from SJSU in Fine Arts, then later received her MSW from UC Berkeley. She was the Administrative Director of the Mental Health Unit of Valley Medical Hospital in Santa Clara Valley. She was an artist, voracious reader, a traveler, and a person who loved to stay informed. When she retired, she traveled and went on numerous cruises. Tahiti was one of her favorite places: great weather, kind people, and delicious food. The picture of her wearing a crown of flowers was taken in Tahiti. Thank you to Valley Heights Staff and all those whom she touched and considered her support. She is survived by her sister, Lydia Nogales Parker, her brother-in-law, Wes Parker, her nephew Delaney Parker, and his wife Holland Sappington Parker. There will be a private family gathering to disperse her ashes either at sea or in the SC mountains.
