Perry Motton, born on March 1, 1936, in Jackson, Tennessee, to John Motton and Mary Perry, passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Cruz, CA, on Saturday, August 17th, at the age of 88. Perry's life was a testament to dedication and quiet strength. After graduating from high school in Beloit, WI in 1954 he enlisted in the US military to serve our country. He began an extraordinary 41-year career with UPS in Santa Cruz that ended as a night shift tractor-trailer driver with a perfect safety record. His commitment to excellence earned him numerous awards, but he remained as humble as he was proud. Following his distinguished career with UPS, Perry spent five years working at North Bay Ford dealership, where his work ethic and kindness continued to shine. Known for his hardworking nature, love of gardening and gentle spirit, Perry was beloved by many, including his neighbors, who admired his reserved demeanor and unwavering kindness. His humility and dedication made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Perry is survived by his only sibling, his younger sister Mary Bond, and her three children: Jeanette (Bond) Smith, Paul Bond Jr., and Robert Lee Bond. His legacy of quiet strength and compassion will be cherished by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd at 3:00 pm at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean St. All who knew Perry are welcome to join us in celebrating his life and honoring his memory. Perry Motton's memory will forever inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his remarkable life and enduring kindness by all.
