Obituary of Jerome David Bullert

Jerome “Jay” Bullert passed away after a long struggle with his health, which lasted this long due to his sheer stubbornness. Born in Redding, CA, Jerome attended Enterprise High School and Shasta College. After working in construction/roofing, bar tending, and customer service, he had a successful career in Technology Support with many pioneering technology companies in Silicon Valley including Netscape and Akamai. Jerome was a member of the Felton Community Emergency Response Training team, a proud volunteer with the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Santa Cruz County assisting underrepresented youth, and a staunch Libertarian. Jerome loved the Raiders, working on cars, drinking bourbon, barbequing (all while swearing and arguing!), listening to blues and classic rock, working in the garden, and his dogs Ben, Poncho, and Max. He is survived by Penny, his loving wife and partner of 35 years; Jessica, the coolest daughter ever; stepdaughters Piper and Erron, step son-in-law Zach, his mother Carol, sister Karen, brothers Mike and Billy, and many cousins – including Heidi, his favorite. A memorial and internment will be held at the Allen Cemetery in the Grand Tetons National Park at a future date and time. Charles Joshua Allen, the original homesteader of the property around 1900, is Jerome’s great-great-great grandfather. The family held a reunion and visited the cemetery in 1994 when Jerome declared this would be where he’s buried - on the overgrown plateau with a stunning view of the Grand Teton Mountains.
